The presentation day was held on 15th November 2017 at Gemilang Hall UniKL BMI. The event started at 8am. The assesssors for this project was a manager from the industry and Dr Ahamd Sabry, lecturer from Medical Electronic Section UniKL BMI.
The event was a success even though the project presented during the event does not work well as planned, the presentation went quite well. The assessors gives recommendation and improvisation suggestion towards the project to improve the project in the future. That will be included in the report later.
Report writing carries 40% out of the whole course, thus, a good report must be produce in order to achieve a good result. The report consist of 5 chapters, Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion. All the chapters must include figures and table to make it more easier to understand.
In conclusion, nevertheless the project doesn't go as planned, the troubleshooting during the project had given me a chance to see and learn more about electronic project. The report writing, was still in progress and needed to be settle before 22nd December 2017.

WEEK 13 - Poster Design
Final Year Project 2, a poster is compulsory as one of the criteria during the presentation day (Industry Day).
The details that must be in the poster are
- Objectives
- Product description
- Methodology
- Flow Chart
- Results
- Conclusion
- Reference
The details in poster has been simplified and only included the important part of the project.
The poster are the complete summary of the project that when a person reads the poster that have the idea on how/what the project are about. Nevertheless, the content are not complete as in the report, but the idea of the project are enough and been display well in the poster.
Figure above shows the complete design of the poster
In conclusion, the poster need to be display while presenting the project during the FYP 2 presentation day. The poster was printed in A1 size to make it clear to see and read from far.
WEEK 12: Hardware Development - 2
The circuit was assembled on a strip board that has been cut into a square. Then the components was soldered part by part to see the connection are well functioned.
Testing was done by checking the connection by multimeter.
At first, the number of jumper are everywhere, then, after seeing supervisor a few times,
Sir Zubir helped in arranging the components and give ideas in testing the circuit part by part.
Below are the figure shows the final look on the circuit that has been soldered completely.
Figure shows the electronic part of the project; amplifier circuits
Figure shows the box of the electronic stethoscope with the graphic LCD and arduino
The graphic LCD that was attached on the box was to display the phonocardiogram display of the heart sound. The arduino was attached on the inside part of the box.
Power supply part was attached on the side of the box to make it easier to change the battery.
As conclusion, the troubleshooting towards the circuit were still on going in order to make the project work as stated in the objectives.

WEEK 11: Purchasing Components
In preparing the project components, several factors must be taken into account. Among them is the projects budget. Each project has its own budget and an estimated budget for the project was made during FYP1 proposal. Second, the list of components is an important part in the preparation of project components.
Before purchasing the components, survey has been done before purchasing the components.
Most of the components are purchased at Jalan Pasar, Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. Nevertheless that, online survey also has been made and mostly the components are available at KedaiRobot.com.
The components are way much cheaper online than in store. Although that is the case, a big quantity of components only be able to be purchase from online. This project doesn't need that many components thus the option is to buy straight from the store.
The electronic components are mostly obtain from a store called Nixie at Jalan Pasar.
For the Stethoscope, it was obtained from Mudah.my since it is a medical device and can't be purchased from electronic store. It was quite a catch since the price is reasonable to complete this project.

BUDGETING
Table above shows that the budget done during FYP1
All components that needed in this project is examined in terms of their specifications for the purposes to validate the project prototype meets before making any purchasing.
After that, the components that has been examined and verified suitable to used is recorded in shortlist.
WEEK 10: Phonocardiogram Display (Graphic LCD) and Arduino
Figure below shows the graphic LCD used to display the phonocardiogram display. The heart sound wave must be display on the graphic LCD.
The pin used was LCD_RST as the reset and connected to pinout A5 at Arduino. Arduino is used as microcontroller to control and display the LCD with coding coded in order to display the heart sound wave.
The interfacing between both of the components are integrated with coding that is coded to display the heart sound wave. When the signal amplified from the circuit the graphic LCD, shows the phonocardiogram display.
Figure above shows the graphic LCD, with 3.97" TFT LCD
Below are the specifications of the 3.97" TFT LCD:
- 3.97" TFT LCD
- Display Format : 480×800
- View Direction : IPS
- Interface : MIPI DSI
- Built-in Controller : No
- Control-Board :No
- Brightness(cd/m²) : 230
- Frame Through Hole : No
- Touch Screen : Without touch panel

WEEK 9: The Flowchart
Figure above shows the flowchart of the project
- This is the flow of the project, it started from picking up sound from the heart through the chest piece.
- Then the heart sound collected from the chest piece is transfer through the aux cable and the signal goes to the first part of amplifier circuit, which is pre-amplifier circuit.
- The pre-amplified signal is then filtered by the filter circuit part, afterwards the filtered and amplified signal go through the power amplifier.
- At this part by having the LM 386 op-amp it will amplify and make it audible to be heard through the speaker.
- Lastly, the output signal with Phonocardiograph display, heart sound wave, are display through the graphic LCD.
As conclusion, the flow of the project is plan as in the flowchart above. Nevertheless, the consequences, the project must be in this flow and in order to achieve the objectives.
WEEK 8: FYP Briefings
FYP Briefing 1 - 18th August 2017, Week 3
In the first Final Year Project 2 briefing , Dr Marwangi is the person who gives out the briefing to the students. The contents of the briefings are :
The conclusion from the briefing, we are aware that this course bring a heavy marks that could affect our CGPA, since it carries 6 credit hours. Thus, a very committed and dedicated effort must be put in to the course. Nevertheless of other subjects, this course subject concluded what we have learn throughout the years of degree.
FYP Briefing 2 - 6th September 2017, Week 6
For the 2nd briefing, Miss Pusparini Dewi, had given the briefing on that day. She focused on writing and content in the report. Specifically, in Chapter 1,2 and 3.
In chapter 1 she emphasized more on writing the introduction with a simple word in order to make the reader or supervisor understands easily without turning the pages many times.
For chapter 2, Literature Review. As usual this part might gives a lot of score since we are comparing our projects towards the existing project writings. Thus, a lot of reading needed to be done in completing this chapter.
Chapter 3, methodology part which included the block diagram, flow chart and hardware and software development. Here is the part where reader/supervisor acknowledge the methods that we used.
In conclusion, completing this part is crucial and needed much more focus and a lot of reading.
In the first Final Year Project 2 briefing , Dr Marwangi is the person who gives out the briefing to the students. The contents of the briefings are :
- Explanation on the distribution marks in FYP 2, where the weightage are, 40% for Presentation of project, 20% for Logbook/Blog, an another 40% for Project Writing Report.
- She also reminded us about the plagiarism of report must be not more than 20%.
- For more details and updates about FYP 2 refer to FYP Unikl BMI Website at www.fyp.bmi.unikl.edu.my or FYP Handbook.
