WEEK 8 12/4/2017

 Activity: FYP1 third briefing

Objective: To expose the students with information regarding FYP 1 in UniKL BMI.      

Content/ procedure: 

1)      The briefing was led by Dr. Imran, and held at TTL2. During the briefing, he brief in detail about how to write a technical report, focussing on chapter 3.

2)      He highlighted on the data is collected and how was it analysed.

3)      The methodology, chapter 3 must discuss about the problem that were anticipated.

Result and analysis: Flow in chapter 3 starting from block diagram, flow chart, schematic diagram, simulation software, plan layout, list of components/equipment, cost, gant chart.

Conclusion:    In depth research was made to complete chapter 3

 

WEEK 7 7/4/2017

Activity: Research more about the project (auscultation)

Objective: To get more information about this project specifically in auscultation and the relation to the project

Content/ procedure: 

1)     Auscultation is the action of listening to sounds from the heart, lungs, or other organs, typically with a stethoscope, as a part of medical diagnosis.

2)  Since this project is using phonocardiogram display thus, the knowledge/ability to accurately identify various heart, lung, and bowel sounds can help me efficiently assess patients and monitor the condition.

3) This is the relation to the phonocardiogram display and an auscultation show what is the phonocardiograph is mean.

Result and analysis:  

Based on figures above, these are the areas that are needed to check for sample chest exam, in reality. For this project certain area will be finalize as the area to be check.

Further research need to be done and discussion with supervisor is needed in order to see a clear vision of this project.

Conclusion: Auscultation and the relation with phonocardiogram display are understood a little bit more in depth during this week research.

WEEK 6 29/3/2017

Activity: FYP1 second briefing

Objective: To expose the students with all information regarding FYP 1 in UniKL BMI.

Content/ procedure: 

1)      The briefing was led by Dr. Siti Marwangi, and held at TTL2. During the briefing, she brief in detail about how to write a technical report, focussing on chapter 1 and chapter 2.

2)      She highlighted on writing chapter 1 in less than 10 pages.

3)      Also, to rephrase and write your reference (APA citation).

4)      Chapter 2 is where it reveals the fundamentals of the project. Must be focus on the title of the project.

5)      Dr. Marwangi also introduced us to Google Scholar, how to auto citefrom the page that we searched.

Result and analysis: Brief explanation was given on how to choose the title for FYP project and advised the students to find supervisors.

Conclusion: All activities were record on online blog as preferred by supervisor, Sir Zubir.

WEEK 5 22/3/2017

Activity: Research more about the project

Objective: To get more information about this project specifically in phonocardiogram display.

Content/ procedure: 

    1)      Phonocardiogram display is a plot of  high-fidelity recording of the sounds and murmurs made by the heart with the help of the machine called the phonocardiograph; thus, phonocardiography is the recording of all the sounds made by the heart during a cardiac cycle.

    2)      From the electronic stethoscope, phonocardiogram displays have to produce a graph and sound form the electronic stethoscope. This is where the point break happens.

Result and analysis:   Further research need to be done and discussion with supervisor is needed in order to see a clear vision of this project.

Conclusion: Phonocardiogram display is understood a little bit more in depth during this week research.

WEEK 4 17/3/2017

Activity: FYP1 first briefing

Objective: To expose the students with all information regarding FYP 1 in UniKL BMI.

Content/ procedure: 

1)      The briefing was led by Dr. Siti Marwangi, and held at TTL2.

2)      She briefly tells about FYP1.

3)      The new attendance record was introduced by using QR code. Lecturer on duty will scan our QR code that contains our name, id no. , phone number and email address.

4)      Also, to make sure we already asked our supervisor to register our project title in the FYP UniKL BMI website.

Result and analysis: Explanation was given about the FYP calendar and advises the students to follow the timeline given.

Conclusion: All activities started to record on online blog as preferred by supervisor, Sir Zubir.

WEEK 3 10/3/2017

Activity: Research more about the project

Objective: To get more information about my project specifically in electronic stethoscope.

Content/ procedure: 

    1)      Research is being done in finding a few more research papers that are almost similar with my project

     2)      Youtube was also used to get a clear vision about the project.

Result and analysis:

Related circuit to project was found and still in choosing phase which type and how to construct the circuit is in progress.

 Conclusion: A rough view is seen for this project in how the electronic stethoscope works.

WEEK 2 1/3/2017

Activity: Finalise the project title for final year project

Objective: To get the best and suitable title for final year project

Content/procedure: Do a research about the project that has been chose.

Result and analysis:

1)      The title that had finalised by supervisor, the chosen title is ‘Development of Electronic Stethoscope with Phonocardiogram Display’.

2)      Some reviews was done on electronic stethoscope such as;

a)      What is stethoscope and how it works?

b)      What is phonocardiogram display?

c)      How electronic stethoscope display using phonocardiogram display?

Conclusion: The reviews were collected and save for further information.

WEEK 1 23/2/2017

Activity: Supervisor selection

Objective:

    1)      To find a supervisor that can supervise during the final year project 1 and final year project 2

    2)      Discuss with supervisor about the project title selection

Content/procedure: Supervisor proposed some title that is related to medical electronics course.

Result and analysis: 

      1)       Sir Zubir Suboh was chosen as supervisor.

      2)       Supervisor brief about title selection and suggest choosing title of project according to my interest.

      3)       10 titles were chosen for supervisor to finalise the next week.

Conclusion:

In depth research was done to know more detail about electronic stethoscope and phonocardiogram display.

Development of Electronic Stethoscope with Phonocardiogram Display

Introduction

This blog were created to record all of the activities conducted during the research of Final Year Project. The research is about electronic stethoscope that has been developed with phonocardiogram display.
